Correspondence, minutes, newsletters, press releases, newspaper clippings, position papers, and other records of the Citizens Action Program, a Chicago advocacy group, created and/or received by Paul Booth who served as co-chairman of the organization. Some materials relate to membership and administration of the organization. Topics include opposition to corporate polluters and to the proposed Chicago Crosstown Expressway.

Biographical/Historical Note +/-

Paul Booth was a Chicago activist and an officer in the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) in the early 1960s. He served as co-chairman of Citizens Action Program, a Chicago advocacy group.

The Citizens Action Program (CAP) was formed in 1970 as the Campaign Against Pollution. The organization changed its name in 1971 to reflect its involvement in a variety of local advocacy issues. In 1974, CAP merged with National Consumers United.
