Materials include election procedure, charts of election schedules, and poll watchers' and related reports, as well as materials documenting the purposes of the organization, its sponsors, its activities, delegates, etc.
Biographical/Historical Note +/-
The Joint Civic Committee on Elections (JCCE) was a non-partisan committee that sought to improve the administration of elections in Chicago (Ill.). In 1939, the Citizens' Association of Chicago (CAC) and six other better government groups joined to form the JCCE. The Committee's objectives included preventing unlawful practices at the polls making voters aware of election processes. Committee members observed polling places and reported on allegedly fraudulent voting.
