Curatorial Statement
This dress is a rare example of Pierre Cardin's early work from the 1950s. As a young designer, Cardin worked for Cristóbal Balenciaga, who left a lasting impact on his work. Later, in the late 1950s and 1960s, Cardin was one of the first designers to produce clothing influenced by the Space Age.
