Dress bodice of black polyester and multi-colored (red, yellow, green) synthetic printed skirt: deep V-neckline, bodice is gathered into waistband at the bust; long sleeves; empire waistline with self-fabric waistband; skirt is slightly gathered into waistband on either side of center front and center back; center back zipper closure.
The donor purchased this dress in the early 1970s at Kauffman's clothing store in Chicago. She wore the dress frequently to parties and evening events in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she and her husband Herb Alexander moved after they were married in 1971.

The patterning of this dress was typical of the aesthetic found in fashion of late the 1960s and early 1970s.
