Dress of light purple silk taffeta and tulle. Taffeta bodice has bateau neckline, tulle overlay, and long tulle sleeves. Tulle ruffles encircling bodice just off the shoulder and at upper arms and apex of bust. Three more tiers of ruffles encircle the skirt at thigh, knee, and ankle. Full, floor-length skirt with slight train.

By the 1950's Marshall Field's Bridal Salon was a well-established part of the wedding industry in Chicago. This dress was brought into Chicago directly from Paris, bypassing New York, and then featured it in a 1954 Bridal Salon campaign.
